MoD criticised for £6bn overspend on big defence projects | UK news | The Guardian: When you have an endless source of funding, taxpayers and future tax payers, sticking to a budget is an ideal at best, not a necessity, and the consequences of not doing so are minimal. For everyone else who doesn’t get to steal money to fund their project, budgets must be met or you and your company face the consequences. With a bottomless pot of gold, splurging is inevitable. And there’s nothing the state likes splurging on more than ‘defensive’ weapons.
