Child Poverty

BBC News – Tower Hamlets ‘worst area for child poverty’ claims map:

For several decades, government has arrogantly claimed that, through taxation, it could eradicate child poverty. Today, child poverty in Tower Hamlets is 52%. How long do we keep trying the same thing until we admit it doesn’t work? Two, three centuries? How many children must suffer in the meantime? Coercively redistributing money will not solve the problem. In the long-run, violence always achieves the exact opposite of the intended goal. We must remove our moral sanction for this.
